  • Impostor - Transformer Prime RocksIssues: I have found that the device will get bogged down if you dont know how to close you webpages or apps. Also there is definitely some light bleed from the side of the screen with the headphone jack on it, and putting pressure on that side will make it worse. Personally though, I don't find these things to be that much of an issue because I dont get uptight about little things. The first issue is a software thing that can be fixed the other is hardware, but not something I personally would care to much about. GPS is not in my realm of concern as I would never use a tablet of this size in this manner. However, I can see this being a problem for some.

Awesomeness: This device is my first Andriod so my opinion cannot be judged vs. other andriod devices. I did have an itouch and I can say I will never go back to Apple ever again. This device is smooth and a pleasure to use. I have not had any wifi issues at all. Movies stream very nicely and games are just insane. Using the web is also very nice and it is nice to not have to use an app to watch video content. Battery life is very good and not disaapointing at all. I'm looking forward to more Tegra3 optimized apps. Its going to be a good year. The speaker has plenty sound, but its nice to have a headphone jack. IMO the positives outweigh any minor negatives so I'm glad to give this device 5 stars.
  • Cynthia - Align probioyicsThe only probiotic that really helps my IBS and avoids a need for prescription drugs. Good price in this market although I wish P & G would lower the price.
  • Traceye - Excellent GrillI live in an apartment so we are not allowed to have gas or charcoal grills. This grill is wonderful.
I use it almost every day and am very pleased with the capacity, even grilling and results every time.
I have even cooked pizza in it. I would definitely recommend this. I would like to know how to get another grill plate
so I can swap out between meat and seafood. .
  • Sedjweck "Sedjweck" - Watch out ... Nokia 920 with Live Tiles could be AddictiveI recently discovered the Nokia 920 because my wife gave it to me as a present, replacing my Android phone. What a gift! For me, this phone offers a great balance between functionality and fun. As a plus, it has one of the most beautiful screen resolutions I've ever seen in a phone. Absolutely love the way Windows 8 Live Tiles perform - move them, shuffle them, resize them, delete them. Watch them update with new info, too. They are so easy and intuitive to use. Adding a new app? ... then just add a new tile on the main page or let the app reside with others sorted alphabetically on an adjacent page that is just a finger push away. This phone is very efficient and fun. Very cool features with camera apps - Try Smart Shoot, Creative Studio, Cinemagraph, and PhotoBeamer. Also, the phone came pre-loaded with Office Word and Excel. Thank you! One more plus, among the many others I'm still discovering, is not having to physically plug-in the phone to charge it. I just place it on the wireless cradle that stays plugged in at home. Somehow, it charges wirelessly without any metal-to-metal contacts. Nice.
  • Miami Bob "Resurgent Reading" - Darker Side of Botswana is DepictedIt has been some time since I read my last novel of the Number 1 Ladies' Detective Agency Series, and I was originally displeased with this book. I thought about giving it 4 stars. Then I thought, I opened the book after dinner and finished it before bedtime: how bad can a book be if you don't put it down?

What I disliked was the reality of the characters, the reality of the issues, the reality that Botswana is modernizing. Mma Makutsi, like my teenager at home, too often chides other people, in a rude and in-your-face fashion. The new cases walking through their doors are not cow thieves or simple questions of trust. Clients seek to discover employees who steal - even though the employers are generous. Stock trading scandals are discovered. What next: pollution violations? Botswana now has modern day issues. Botswana is an uglier place.

McCall Smith seems less enchanted by the "Leave It To Beaver" simplicity of many of its gloriously gentle citizens. "There were all those unkindnesses, palpable, daily; so easily avoidable; but one could not think of those, thought Mma Ramotswe, or one would spend one's time in tears - and the unkindness would continue. So the small things came into their own: small acts of helping others, if one could; small ways of making one's own life better; acts of love, acts of tea, acts of laughter. Clever people might laugh at such simplicity, but, she asked herself, what was their solution?"

Botswana is changing, but it is not dead. McCall Smith reminds us, "That fine country, with its good people, was still there. . . "

Reading these books is like getting out of the rat race and flying off to where life is simpler, better. Social standards seem so good in Botswana. Maybe the "good old days" were better in Botswana than they are today; but, the present days still have a lot of good.

After engaging the characters in numerous "new vocations" whether from malaise or midlife crisis, the author has our beloved J.L.B. Matekoni return to his auto mechanic's life as Matekoni realizes that, "The things that we do best. . . are the things that we have always done best."

Among all of the series written by McCall Smith, this is his best. And we can only hope that he realizes this fact and continues to do his best by delivering more novels for this series.
